PETER Kay has been slammed for his "ridiculous" conduct which saw him boot audience members out of his hit comedy tour following a series of interruptions.
The Phoenix Nights star wasn't pulling any punches during his latest Better Late Than Never... Again! show in his native Manchester.
Peter, 51, was quick to dispatch one ticket-holder who repeatedly shouted out his comedy show's signature catchphrase "garlic bread."
The stand-up previously said he's "too embarrassed" to buy garlic bread at the supermarket - after the snack became the punchline to one of his best-loved jokes.
After the male attendee repeated the phrase numerous time, interrupting his joke following the show interval, the Bolton-born star called on the AO Arena staff to intervene in a move which some have dubbed "nasty and bitter."
Yet this wasn't the end of the chaos, as one female audience member took advantage of the pause in proceedings to shout "we love you Peter Kay."
Clearly at the end of his tether with the interruptions, the Max and Paddy star also asked for her to be escorted out.
Yet he couldn't resist a distasteful dig as she made her way through the aisles, with audience members claiming he said: "Have a drink have we?
"Go on, off you go Lisa Riley."
He was referring to the Emmerdale actress, who recently revealed her 12 stone weight loss.
The debacle caused one fan to state: "Was embarrassing, the guy only shouted garlic bread and the woman just shouted we love you Peter. Waited 20 years to see him and was disappointed."
A fan then told : "The whole thing just feels very nasty and bitter.
"His performance was poor but the way he dealt with one heckler and someone shouting 'we love you' was ridiculous.
"My friend and I left the show after that, half an hour early. Others left the show early too."
And it seems a slew of gig-goers shared their views.
One took to social media to write: "I’ve lost a lot of respect for Peter Kay after the way he treated the heckler at the end of his Manchester Feb 8 show."

"Having him removed by force by his entourage and cracking jokes about it over the three or four minutes it took.
"No manners. Huge waste of money."
Peter's show also left a sour taste in the mouths of some after they claimed he did an impression of a blind man.
He also is alleged to have made jokes about not having an erection due to taking sertraline 40mg.
The dialogue prompted another fan to post on social media: "We were in the same section, super uncomfortable and a really bad look for Kay, felt like I was seeing the mask slip a little bit. sad to see it but he's definitely washed up."
Another agreed: "Yes it ruined it for us as well ,we felt really uncomfortable Peter Kay pushed it then threw him out, won't be watching him again…. Ruined it…"
The Sun has contacted Peter's reps for comment.
Peter was recently spotted leaving London's O2 Arena after rehearsing for his residency.
Pete broke records when he sold out 45 dates at London's O2 - and he's the only artist in the world to do so.
He has also played a record 100 shows at the Manchester Arena - breaking all attendance and performance records.
At the end of last year, the Car Share star announced 21 new dates, kicking off in February and finishing the same time next year.
The new 2025 and 2026 shows include his first dates at Aberdeen P&J Live, Brighton Centre, Bournemouth International Centre and Isle of Man Villa Marina.
Peter said in a statement: "It's been wonderful doing what I love most, stand-up comedy. Laughter is more important than ever in these challenging times and with the cost of living still at an all-time high, ticket prices for the new dates will start from £35.”
The tour, Peter Kay Live, originally kicked off in December 2022.
The new dates will see him visit 16 cities over the course of a year.
Peter was due to embark on a series of shows back in 2017 before cancelling due to unforeseen family circumstances.
Yet there is plenty of reason to smile, after Peter topped the list of highest-earning British comics in 2024.
Meanwhile, he left Netflix fans baffled after his ad libs in the new Wallace and Gromit movie.
