IT’S been a pretty miserable time for Culture Club recently, as they’re having to pay £12million in repayment debts to tour giant Live Nation.

But frontman Boy George isn’t letting things get him down - and he’s got a plan to turn around his fortunes.

As well as working on new music and doing a stint on Broadway, we can reveal George is secretly working on a new version of his hit musical Taboo.

While insiders said plans were in the very early stages, George’s hope is that the show will return to London’s West End later this year.

The production, which tells the story of George’s life before he found fame, first opened back in 2002 before going on a nationwide tour.

A source said: “It’s currently at the talks stage being worked on behind the scenes but George is really excited about the possibility of Taboo returning to the West End.

“George is also set to release a new physical only album in the coming months as well as his broadway stint in Moulin Rouge.”

Opening up about how he has struggled over the years to make music and often considered giving up, George recently said: “I used to be terrible [ at writing songs ] but then I read about Bowie going back to Fame fifty times and going, ‘Maybe not today, but tomorrow.’

“And suddenly you go, ‘Actually I’ve got it, I’ve got it’. There is nothing more exciting.”

Last month Boy George and Culture Club were announced as headliners for Tunes in The Park in Cornwall.

The Eighties legends will join Jess Glynne and Craig David at Port Eliot Estate in St Germans between August 21 and 24.

George will also play Uptown Festival in London’s Blackheath in July.

George said: “These tracks will not be available to stream.

“This is a new vinyl initiative.

“Vinyl matters.”
