Inside Charli XCX’s lavish Italian wedding to George Daniel including posh venue and A-list guests

HER 2025 is off to a cracking start with three Grammy wins and five Brit Award nominations.

But this year will be especially memorable for Charli XCX as she is tying the knot to her fiance, The 1975 drummer George Daniel.

I’ve learned she flew to Italy last August to scope out sites for their nuptials and has booked a venue.

Following the massive success of her album Brat last year, she will also perform a string of headline shows in the coming months before getting married later in the summer.

A source close to the Guess singer said: “Charli and George both love Italy and it holds a special place in their hearts so they decided that’s where they want to get married.

“They’ve found a venue that they think is perfect for their unique style of wedding, which won’t exactly be traditional.

“The main aim is to have everyone they love come together and obviously there are plenty of people who are desperate for an invite.”

As well as George’s bandmates including Matty Healy, several other stars are expected to attend.

They will include singers and collaborators Troye Sivan and Robyn.

Speaking last year, Charli said: “We’re both very chill and we kind of just want to have a party.

“Neither of us are particularly formal about marriage or care about the formalities of the ceremony or whatever.

“We just want to be together forever and have a party with our friends. That’s what we’re aiming for wedding-wise.”

He proposed in November 2023 after they got together at the beginning of 2022.

The following year, she referenced George in her song Welcome To My Island (Remix) in which she sang: “It was love at first sight from the moment we kissed.

"I want a white dress, countryside house, and kids”

So as much as Charli insists it’s going to be a knees-up, I still imagine she’ll be in a wedding gown on the big day.
