Kim Kardashian to reunite with ex Pete Davidson at SNL 50th anniversary special 2 years after split

KIM Kardashian and Pete Davidson are set to reunite as they both return to Saturday Night Live for its 50th anniversary special.

SKIMS founder Kim, 44, has been officially announced as part of the line-up for the celebration, which airs on February 16.

Meanwhile, Pete – who was a cast member on SNL for eight years – confirmed his attendance during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

The reunion comes two years after Kim and Pete called time on their whirlwind romance.

The pair famously got together after Kim hosted the NBC show in 2021, sharing an on-screen kiss during an Aladdin sketch.

Kim and Pete went on to date for nine months before splitting in 2022.

While they have both moved on, the special will mark a rare public event where they’ll both be in attendance.

NBC has packed the anniversary special with A-list names, including John Mulaney, Martin Short, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, and Robert De Niro.

More celebrity guests are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Why did Kim and Pete break up?

A source close to the couple told said Kim and Pete still have “a lot of love and respect for each other” following their breakup.

The insider said they couldn’t handle their busy schedules and the long-distance relationship, adding: “it made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”

A second source told that Kardashian and Davidson’s age difference contributed to their breakup.

“Pete is 28 and Kim is 41 — they are just in very different places at the moment,” they told the outlet.

“Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment’s notice.

“But Kim has four kids and it isn’t that easy. She needs to focus on the kids.”

The source added that Kardashian was “totally exhausted by this relationship and other things going on in her life.”

Their breakup came as Pete was on location in Australia filming Wizards, with Kim raising her four kids.

How did they meet?

The couple met on the set of Saturday Night Live and shared a kissing scene during an Aladdin magic carpet ride skit.

“It was a stage kiss, but it was still a little zing,” Kim said on the  in April.

A few days after they met, Kardashian said she found herself thinking about Davidson and realized he hadn’t come to her SNL after-party.

“I thought about it later. I was like, ‘Damn, he’s the only person who didn’t come,'” she said.

They started dating in November 2021, and a source told at the time: “Pete has told her he doesn’t want to see anyone else.

“She is telling some people they aren’t super serious but she isn’t seeing anyone else… She’s trying to not make a big deal about it but is super into him.”

After they began dating, Davidson appeared on episodes of The Kardashians.

“I wasn’t even thinking, like, Oh my god, I’m going to be in a relationship with him,” Kardashian said on the show.

“I was just thinking, like, ‘Heard about this BDE, need to get out there.’ I was just basically DTF.”

Davidson quickly warmed up to Kardashian’s four kids, and in a clip from , he said having kids is “my dream.” 

He added: “That’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better, so when that happens, it’s just easier.”
