On today's This Morning, host Ruth Langsford quizzed whether she "would be posh" on the BBC show, set in fictional town Walford.

Lisa, who was showing her talents as a chef in the show kitchen, replied: "She speaks like I speak.

"She's not an EastEnder, but that's all I can say."
Later in the daytime programme Lisa - who is dating MasterChef host John Torode - seemed to get flustered when she was told she only had three minutes to finish off her meringue.

Ruth's co-host and husband Eamonn Holmes then quipped: "You better hope they don't do a live EastEnders!".

The former Spooks star admitted she was terrified about joining the iconic show, adding: "I've literally been cooking and loving it. I have to say it's amazing to be back acting. Going into the Vic is terrifying."

"I'm so happy to be joining the cast of EastEnders," she previously said. "It's an iconic show and I can't wait to play my part in it.

"Fi Browning is a hugely exciting character and I'm really looking forward to working with Sean and all the team, and revealing more about her."

The show producer, Sean O'Connor added: "I'm really thrilled that we have been able to tempt Lisa Faulkner back to TV drama and back to the BBC."

He added: "Fi Browning is something of a departure for EastEnders; a no-nonsense but sophisticated businesswoman with strength and vulnerability.

"But does she have an agenda? And who - or what - has she set her sights on?"

Lisa previously won Celebrity Masterchef in 2010 and has appeared in some of Britain's biggest dramas including Spooks and Holby City.
