Lisa Faulkner reveals her new EastEnders character will be ‘posh’ like her
ELOQUENT actress Lisa Faulkner has revealed her EastEnders character won't boast a Cockney twang and instead will "speak how I speak".
The former Spooks star has been filming for her soap role as businesswoman Fi Browning for the past six weeks.
On today's This Morning, host Ruth Langsford quizzed whether she "would be posh" on the BBC show, set in fictional town Walford.
Lisa, who was showing her talents as a chef in the show kitchen, replied: "She speaks like I speak.
"She's not an EastEnder, but that's all I can say."
Later in the daytime programme Lisa - who is dating MasterChef host John Torode - seemed to get flustered when she was told she only had three minutes to finish off her meringue.
Ruth's co-host and husband Eamonn Holmes then quipped: "You better hope they don't do a live EastEnders!".

Lisa, 45, sticking around in Walford for a while after soap bosses handed her a bumper contract.
She has been confirmed to play 'stylish, sophisticated' businesswoman Fi Browning in the BBC soap from next month, but instead of her original eight-week run that Lisa thought she was signing up for - she will now be on screen for at least six months.
Speaking on Sunday Brunch, Lisa explained: "I thought it was eight weeks and then they said, 'Oh actually it's six months at first'."
The former Spooks star admitted she was terrified about joining the iconic show, adding: "I've literally been cooking and loving it. I have to say it's amazing to be back acting. Going into the Vic is terrifying."
"I'm so happy to be joining the cast of EastEnders," she previously said. "It's an iconic show and I can't wait to play my part in it.
"Fi Browning is a hugely exciting character and I'm really looking forward to working with Sean and all the team, and revealing more about her."
The show producer, Sean O'Connor added: "I'm really thrilled that we have been able to tempt Lisa Faulkner back to TV drama and back to the BBC."
He added: "Fi Browning is something of a departure for EastEnders; a no-nonsense but sophisticated businesswoman with strength and vulnerability.
"But does she have an agenda? And who - or what - has she set her sights on?"
- EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights on BBC One
