STEPPING OUT

Love Island’s Nathan Massey is pictured for the first time since split from Cara De La Hoyde looking glum as he films Towie scenes with Tommy Mallett

LOVE Island's Nathan Massey has been pictured for the first time since his split with Cara de la Hoyde.

Stepping out in Essex, Nathan was seen looking rather glum with best friend Tommy Mallett as they shot scenes together for Towie.

With a downcast expression, the 25-year-old chatted on his phone before meeting up with Tommy in the street.

The pair were then seen talking, while Nathan stood with his arms folded across his chest.

Nathan and Cara were crowned the winners of Love Island 2016 last summer, but their relationship has hit the skids after just 11 months.

Before officially calling it quits last Friday, the couple were said to have had a series of rows.

Insiders have said the decision to end it was mutual and that Nathan and Cara are determined to remain "amicable".

A source said: "They’ve both mutually agreed to call it quits.

"It hasn’t been an easy decision but in the end they decided things would be better apart.

"They stayed really amicable and will definitely do all they can to be friendly."

Nathan is said to be "staying positive" in the aftermath of the split, while Cara found comfort in a box of KFC.

She tweeted: "I'm sure "KFC can cheer me up a bit".

Cara and Nathan received a £50,000 cash prize for winning ITV2's Love Island.

Following their success on the show, they went on to make several guest appearances in Towie.

Last month, The Sun reported that Cara had moved out of the home she shared with Nathan.
