The Northern Irish presenter underwent the serious surgery earlier this year yet looked sprightly as he sprinted from the ITV studio

EAMONN Holmes cracked a joke about his recent hip operation as he did the iconic Baywatch run out of the Good Morning Britain studio.

The stand-in TV host - taking of the role of hunky David Hasselhoff - quipped: "I haven't run this fast since my hip operation" as he broke into a jog and flailed his hands in the air to mimic sprinting down the sands on the hit US show.

The 57-year-old star recently underwent a gruelling hip replacement, and was forced to take time off air to recover.

While Eamonn mimicked LA County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, his co-presenter Kate Garraway played Pamela Anderson as she led the pack on the ITV show.

Her blonde hair flew in the air as she burst into fits of giggles.

After her interview on the show, Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent joined their antics along with GMB newsreader Charlotte Hawkins.

Earlier in the show, entertainment reporter Richard Arnold had fans in fits of giggles with his run alongside MIC star Jamie Laing.

They took to Twitter to comment with one writing: " you are SO worth the TV licence fee God bless you."

Another added: "Eamonn slow motion#priceless," while a third joked: "Baywatch on Thames."

Last month Eamonn showed off the results of his major hip operation as he danced around on-stage.

In a candid chat before the surgery he also revealed fears he might die on the treatment table.

He learned just hours before he went under the knife that his pal Sir Terry Wogan had died.

He told the : “It was very foreboding. I was not very optimistic about the whole thing.”

He added that his wife, Ruth Langsford, was worried she’d lose him, and asked Eamonn: “Do you have to have both of them done?”
