Love Island winner Jack Fincham FREED on bail as he appeals jail sentence for dog Elvis’ attack on runner
LOVE Island winner Jack Fincham has been FREED from jail after his out-of-control dog Elvis mauled a runner and attacked a woman.
The reality star, 32, was dragged to court after the hulking Cane Corso attacked Robert Sudell.
Fincham was today jailed for six weeks after he admitted being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog.
It is understood he has now been freed on bail while he appeals the sentence.
Courts can grant bail ahead of an appeal in exceptional circumstances but it will likely have conditions on it.
Defendants will have to make the appeal to a Crown Court judge - even if the sentencing was imposed by magistrates.
"However, the case remains finely poised, and we are optimistic that in the fullness of time, the Crown Court will uphold Mr Fincham’s appeal."
His on-off girlfriend Chloe Brockett wept earlier as he was taken down to the cells, while Fincham gave a thumbs up.
Elvis first attacked runner Robert in Swanley, Kent, in September 2022.
He then mauled an unnamed woman in Grays, Essex, in June 2024 but no harm was done.
Presiding magistrate Anne Wade, said that Fincham was subject to a suspended sentence order at the time.
This was after Fincham was caught speeding down the hard shoulder in a BMW while on cocaine.
Ms Wade said this order would be activated in part, adding that "we find no reason not to do so" as she jailed the star.
Fincham was also ordered to pay £3,680 - including £200 compensation fee to Robert and a £50 compensation fee to the other victim.
A payment plan of £400-a-month will be set up upon his release from prison, Southend Magistrates' Court heard.
JPs heard that Fincham failed to comply with three rules over the dog's ownership following the first attack.
These included to always keep the dog on the lead, for the dog to wear a muzzle when outside and to not leave the animal alone with anyone under the age of 16.
The guidelines were set in September 2022 when Elvis bit runner Robert and Fincham took part in a dog ownership course.
But there was another incident in June 2024 when the animal lashed out at a woman - sinking its teeth into her leg.
The court was told Fincham would get Elvis back upon his jail release if the three stipulations are met.
Fincham has previously come under fire over his pet dog.
Fans have slammed the star over Elvis' cropped ears, which is illegal in the UK.
He revealed last year that he had got the pooch from Russia and that it was imported by Protection Dogs WorldWide.
The former pen salesman also owns Sandy, a bulldog he bought while he was dating and living with his ex Dani Dyer.
Fincham appeared on the 2018 series of Love Island where he and Dani - daughter of actor Danny Dyer - scooped the top prize.
The couple split just 129 days after leaving the villa following a series of rows.
Dani broke the news to their followers in December 2018, saying: "She wrote: "Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It's been an incredible six months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but we've sadly come to the realisation that it's not meant to be long term.
"We both plan to stay friends. I hope you'll all understand. Love Dani x."
Fincham has found himself on the wrong side of the law numerous times since 2021 when he was arrested for drink-driving.
He recently told The Sun how his 2023 conviction for speeding while high on cocaine was a wake up call and led him to sign up for Narcotics Anonymous.
The star added: "This has made me realise that I have to take responsibility for my actions.
"I was carrying on with the same lifestyle after the arrest, but now it's hit home.
