Coronation Street star Shayne Ward’s family fears for relative after mystery accident

The soap actor was hit with the bad news this weekend

CORONATION Street star Shayne Ward is said to be “distraught” after a relative suffered a “horrific” accident.

The former X Factor winner, 32, was hit with the bad news this weekend.

A source said: “The news came as a shock to the whole family.

“Shayne is very close with his loved ones and obviously it’s hard to hear.

“The relative is recovering now and everyone hopes he will get better soon.”

At present no more details have emerged about the incident.

In December last year Shayne welcomed his first child, daughter Willow May Ward, into the world with girlfriend Sophie Austin.

Earlier this year The Sun’s Bizarre column revealed Shayne would be making a music comeback.

A source told The Sun: “Shayne can’t wait to start recording his tracks and show the nation was he’s got up his sleeve.

“He has chatted to his Coronation Street co-stars about the music and they are all fully behind him.

“This will in no way impact his Coronation Street commitments and he’s certain he can juggle both.”

Shayne shot to fame when he won the X Factor in 2005.

His debut single That’s My Goal went to number one as did his first album entitled Shayne Ward.

He later went on to reach number 2 with his follow up album Breathless in 2007 but was dropped by Syco in 2011 when his third album Obsession failed to find the same success.

He joined Coronation Street in August 2015 and shortly afterwards bagged Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards for his portrayal of factory worker Aidan Connor.

He is currently signed to Corrie to play factory owner Aidan until late this year.
