MARVEL have just unleashed the epic trailer for Thor: Ragnarok and it looks like their most action packed movie so far.
The highly anticipated flick - out in October - will pitch Thor Vs Hulk in an outer-space showdown that’s partly based on the iconic Planet Hulk comic book.
The trailer also gives a first-look at the return of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki who was last seen taking the throne of Odin after being killed off during Thor: The Dark World.
Fans won’t be surprised to know that the trailer gives little to none explanation. Where’s Odin? How did Loki survive? Just two of the many questions Marvel fanatics will now be asking.
The trailer opens with Thor in chains, perhaps held captive by Cate Blanchett’s villain, Hela, who manages to crush Thor’s supposedly indestructible hammer, Mjolnir.
This scene looks like it takes place back on Earth and with Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange helping Thor locate his father, the most likely scenario is that it's happening within the opening scenes. Why else would Thor need to return to earth?
Chaos begins when Hela wages war on Asgard and Thor is soon blasted off to another planet where he’s taken prisoner and sent to Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster.
Next, a glimpse at Tom Hiddelston’s return as charismatic villain Loki. The people behind him look terrified as he fights an unseen threat. But it’s unclear if he’s fighting for Asgard or helping Hela to destroy it.
Now the part of the trailer that will have Marvel fans around the world speechless. Thor Vs Hulk. A battle of two of Marvel’s mightiest heroes. But wait, why is Loki watching the battle play out next to the Grandmaster? Why isn’t he fighting alongside his brother?
So many questions and UK fans will have to wait until October to find out the answers.
But if that sounds difficult, spare a thought for American Marvel addicts who will have to wait until November.
