SIMON Cowell interrupts a passionate speech by Ant and Dec at a key moment with a smug quip in the latest trailer for Britain's Got Talent 2017.
The show's head judge mischievously claims he's the thing in Britain that everybody loves as the Geordie duo address the isles from behind a podium in Trafalgar Square.
With the famous London location a sea of red, white and blue, the pair make a ministerial speech fit to win any election.
Ant quickly dismisses Simon's cheeky moment and says: "No, no, no, the one thing we all love is talent!"
His words are met by huge cheers from the crowd which give way to the Blue Brothers' ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’.
An aerial shot of Buckingham Palace cuts to the Queen sitting in her finery watching reruns of the show.
Building up for one final rallying cry, Dec says: “Throughout this campaign, we shall ask that one important question..." as Ant shouts: "Has Britain’s got talent?”
Previous BGT winner Paul Potts, 46, recently lamented the show's approach to discovering talent, telling the : “It is a shame the show has to search for talent. It is better if it is organically found."
The opera singer romped to victory in the first series of the hit ITV talent show after blowing away judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan and the British public with his vocal skills.
However, he does think the show offers and incredible platform for people to be discovered.
“It is still giving people opportunities they would not have and that is the most important thing,” he said.
Paul released two albums on Simon Cowell’s Syco record label after beating fellow finalists Connie Talbot, The Bar Wizards, Bessie Cursons, Damon Scott and the Kombat Breakers.
However he was dropped by Syco after second album, Passione, peaked at Number 5.
