In 2000 she discovered lumps in her breasts and was diagnosed with the disease, she survived after having fourteen lumps removed and undergoing four months of extensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

However, the news that Linda will now die from the disease has left her fearing that she will, too.

Speaking to the , she said: “When I found out about Linda my first thought was about her.

“But then I did start to feel scared for myself.

“I thought ‘is this going to happen to me as well?’. I know that’s selfish but you can’t help but think it.”

Anne admitted that she hasn’t broached the painful subject with her sisters yet, but has confided in her two daughters.

She added: “I haven’t spoken to my sisters about this. We’ve been so monopolised by what’s happening with Linda because she actually has cancer now.

“But I have spoken to my daughters about it. I told them I’m getting more paranoid than ever that I’ll get cancer again…I can’t help it.

“Whenever I get a pain somewhere or I feel ill my first thought is always ‘is this going to be cancer?’ It’s difficult not to think about it. That’s just something I live with.

“Ever since I had cancer I have tried to forget about it and put it to the back of my mind.

“But Linda’s situation has brought it all back, especially because Linda previously had it too.”

The Nolans lost sister Bernie when she was just 52 to the disease, an experience Anne describes as “horrendous”.

With her own cancer battle fresh in her mind, she added: “I don’t know how I’d be if I had cancer again.

“I might be horrendous and break down and not be able to cope with it.

“But then I might think ‘I’ve had 17 years free of cancer’. Bernie didn’t have that.

“If it comes back there’s not much I can do about it.

“You have to live your life the best you can because the only other choice you’ve got is to lie down and die.”

Coleen revealed that Linda Nolan has secondary cancer live on Loose Women.

The star revealed how her sister found out the shocking diagnosis and made it clear that the family have been coming together and keeping positive since discovering the news.

Coleen opened up about her sister’s bravery as she admitted the cancer could not be cured

Coleen explained: “This is so hard. My sister Linda had an accident in her home where she fell up the stairs.

“She fractured and broke her hip and went to hospital.

“While they did the scan of her hip, they found secondary cancer. She had been clear of breast cancer for six years.”

The 58-year-old singer – who recently underwent a facelift – has been told the condition is not curable this time round, but doctors are able to treat her and she could still have “years” to live.

Coleen couldn’t hold back the tears as she continued: “They found a cyst attached to her pelvis. So it was just earth-shattering for us initially.

“The positive thing is, although it is not curable, it is treatable and it hasn’t spread anywhere else. Linda wants to get it across she isn’t dying of cancer because it is treatable and she could have years, so we have to focus on that.”
