Jamie then walked through the door, and Amanda said it was "so weird" to have him back.

"He looks tanned and thinner," Amanda said, while asking about his fresh hair cut.

Jamie then said the last five months had been "awful," as he went on to reveal when he'd return to the show for good.

He continued: "Today is the fourth month anniversary of my cancer diagnosis and I've had enough of hospitals and operations and it's so nice to be back.

"But I've got some news for you, because as of today I'm cancer free."

Sadly in September 2024, the Heart Radio star revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Addressing fans, he told them: "Hi folks, as you know - I recently had an operation to remove a lesion from my vocal chords.

"The biopsy has identified this as Stage 1 Laryngeal cancer."

Discussing his diagnosis, Jamie went on: "I've had 'scan-anxiety' - everyone who has been through what I've been through will know you just get a barrage of statistics."

He also called it an "enormous shock."

He continued: "There's a one in ten chance you won't survive it, and you kind of go 'Oh, OK' I'll take that.

"I had to do several surgeries, and the first surgery wasn't as successful as we hoped.

"Then there was a second surgery, and then a third, and each time I was doing more and more damage to my vocal chords.

"By the third one they said, well you've got a one in six chance that you might not be able to talk again.

"I thought OK, that's like rolling a dice, I'll take that, It's just statistics after statistics."

Amanda interjected: "Well it's also horrific for your loved ones.

"For your lovely wife Sophie and the boys, and I know they probably had to go into silent corners of the house and weep, in order to come back to you and be stronger. How are they?"

Jamie told his co-host: "Well cancer is tough, the whole family suffers so it's not just the individual and they've been amazingly supportive, everyone has been.

"It's all just blown me away and I want to thank every single person who has sent me a message and every single person I've ever met has been in touch and that's just been amazing."
