WHEN he reached the final of I’m A Celebrity in December 2015, there couldn’t have been more demand for GEORGE SHELLEY.
But after ditching his group UNION J to go solo and launch a career as a radio presenter, his dreams have been dashed as he has been dropped from the Capital FM Breakfast Show after 14 months.
He and his co-host LILAH PARSONS presented their final show today and will quietly be replaced on Monday morning after lead host DAVE BERRY stepped down earlier this year.
A source said: “George has done a great job but bosses weren’t prepared to put him in charge of the station’s flagship show.
“It doesn’t mean his radio career is over though.
"He and Lilah are in talks to work elsewhere at the network, although nothing has been confirmed.”

It will now be fronted by stand-ins for the next few weeks before the new presenter is announced, who I recently revealed will be weekday evening host ROMAN KEMP.
A Capital spokeswoman said: “Today is Dave, George and Lilah’s last day hosting the Capital London breakfast show.
"We wish Dave lots of luck in the future.
“We’re pleased to say George and Lilah won’t be going far – more news on that, and the new Capital breakfast show very soon.”
At least he’ll finally get to hit snooze on his alarm clock come Monday morning.
