Lindsay Lohan wears a Burkini on the beach in Thailand after revealing she is studying Islam
Actress covered up in the swimwear during her sun-soaked holiday
LINDSAY Lohan has been spotted wearing a Burkini during her holiday in Thailand.
The actress has been enjoying a sun-soaked break in Phuket, and she completely covered up for a day out at the beach.
Lindsay, 30, ditched her usual bikinis to don the top-to-toe swimwear for a paddle-boarding session.
The red and black number covered her legs and arms and head, leaving just her face, hands and feet on show.
She was pictured standing on the beach with her board and paddling out into the sea.
Burkinis were designed to respect Islamic traditions of modest dress, and Lindsay recently confirmed she has been studying the religion.
Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson previously hit headlines back in 2011 when she was pictured wearing a similar Burkini on a beach in Australia.
Lindsay has not confirmed whether she plans to convert to Islam, but she insisted reading the Koran has given her peace.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, she said: " Studying the Koran is something I found solace in, a religion where I found a lot of peace.

"I have reached inside and I found what I want my intentions to be in the world... focusing on taking control of what I want out of life...
"You can't just convert to a religion overnight - it's a culture and practice [and] I don't want to comment on something I haven't finished', she told the programme."
Lindsay has started wearing headscarves recently, and she revealed she was left terrified when she was asked to remove it at London's Heathrow Airport after landing in the UK from Turkey.
The Mean Girls star said: “When I was flying to New York recently, I was wearing a headscarf and I got stopped at the airport and racially profiled for the first time in my life… at Heathrow Airport.
“She opened my passport and saw ‘Lindsay Lohan’ and started immediately apologising but then said, ‘Please take off your head scarf’.
“And I did, it’s OK. But what scared me at that moment was, how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel? That was really interesting to me.
“I was in shock. It was jarring.
She added: “I got double checked until she realised… it was strange.”
Host Piers Morgan then asked if it “freaked her out a bit” and she said: “It did, I’m from New York, I was born and raised there so I was a little intimidated”.
