Game of Thrones’ Iain Glen drops a big hint over his character Ser Jorah Mormont’s future in series seven

Ser Jorah contracted the lethal condition greyscale in the last series and set out to find a cure

GAME of Thrones star Iain Glen has hinted that his character Ser Jorah Mormont may overcome his terminal condition in the upcoming series.

Ser Jorah contracted greyscale, a fictitious disease that sees those with it have their skin reduced to a stone-like texture, in series six but kept his suffering hidden from his companions.

When his secret was finally revealed to his beloved Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), she demanded he focus on finding a cure rather than ending his life without a fight.

And in an interview with fan site Winter Is Coming, it would appear that Ser Jorah might have had some success.

He explained: "I've always enjoyed playing Jorah. It's been a role that's been good to me so far.

"There's quite a high death count in Game of Thrones and they don't blanch at removing favourite characters.

"They just get rid of them in a brutal way. My end may well be close but so far I'm doing okay."

Back in December, Iain revealed that the next season is so monumental that the time it has taken to film seven episodes, they would have usually filmed ten.

He also revealed that there would be even more overlapping of storylines, which would involve more characters who have never met before interacting with one another.

Speaking to the , Iain said: “They are taking the length of time it takes to shoot ten episodes to shoot just seven this year and six next year.”

He added: “I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created it’s just getting more and more extraordinary and they feel they need that time to shoot seven hours as opposed to ten.”

Iain also revealed that in the season “you feel that the drama is moving towards its end game, more characters are overlapping so we are seeing a lot more of each other, than perhaps in the past”.

Just days ago, the first trailer for the series was released, with the minute-long clip showing Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Daenarys (Emilia Clark) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) are all seen walking to claim their rightful thrones, as a haunting remix of James’ song Oh Sit Down plays ominously in the background.
