This Morning viewers are delighted as Phillip Schofield reunites with Going Live co-host Sarah Greene while Holly Willoughby is off sick

THIS Morning viewers are ecstatic today as Philip Schofield has reunited with his Going Live co-host Sarah Greene for the first time in 24 years, while Holly Willoughby is off sick.

The show immediately kicked off with a reminiscent vibe by playing the theme tune to the popular eighties kids’ show.

As the iconic duo came onto screens Sarah, 58, asked 55-year-old Phillip: “Am I in a time warp?

“What’s weird is Phil, it doesn’t feel weird, does that make any sense?”

Joking about his hair, Phillip replied: “I just looked down and that’s not the same colour, but you look exactly the same”, to which Sarah joked, “Same bottle!”

And of course the pair couldn’t resist a joke about Phil’s puppet sidekick, Gordon the Gopher.

After hearing his squeaks and pretending to stamp on him, Phillip joked that he was “now in rehab as he couldn’t get any work.”

With the chemistry between the pair making it seem like they’d never been apart, viewers flooded Twitter with happy comments.

One wrote: “@RealSarahGreene @Schofe You both haven't changed at all! I feel as though I'm reliving my youth! #GoingLive #ThisMorning 😁”

Another added: “It's a Going Live reunion!! ☺ This is brilliant! #ThisMorning @Schofe #BringBackGordon”

Many became emotional with comments such as: “Just had a real emotional moment seeing @Schofe and @RealSarahGreene on @thismorning #ThisMorning”

Others demanded to see more of Sarah on TV: “Omg!! This is the best decision ever!! Sarah and @Schofe it's about time Sarah was back on our screens #ThisMorning”

And some could resist adding how amazing the presenter looks: “Wow, how hot is @RealSarahGreene! 😍 @thismorning #ThisMorning”

Sarah had spoken out about her hopes to reunite with her former co-host just days before her This Morning gig, and even joked they could bring Gordon The Gopher out of retirement.

Going Live was broadcast on BBC One from 1987 and 1993, and the hosts have remained good friends ever since.

Speaking to Best magazine, she said: “I don’t know… We could host a This Morning/Going Live! mash-up to celebrate! Break Gordon the Gopher out of rehab, bring back Trevor and Simon.

“It’d be hilarious to co-host with Phillip. We’re still good friends.”

She added: “I went out with Phil and his wife, Steph, a few months ago, and we’re having dinner in a couple of weeks. He was fabulous to work with.”
