Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway jokes she’s ‘Piers Morgan with better hair’ as she interrupts Susanna Reid interview
THE tables turned for Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid as she appeared as a guest on today’s breakfast show – yet she STILL struggled to get a word in edgeways.
The regular TV presenter is taking a half-term break from the early-morning programme yet braved a 5am wake-up call on her day off to chat about her new TV show Save Money Good Food.
Show fans often sympathise with the former Strictly Come Dancing star in her day-job as she struggles to get time to make her views heard thanks to opinionated presenter Piers Morgan.
While she gushed she relished “being able to speak” on Tuesday’s GMB, she was quickly halted by presenter Kate Garraway.
Susanna told the show: “It’s so strange to be on this side of the sofa.
“I love being here, I love being able to speak!
“Where’s that little voice that normally happens over the top?”
As Kate talked over Susanna she admitted she was doing exactly the same, and told her: “Sorry for talking over you there.
“Just call me Piers Morgan – with better hair!”
Londoner Susanna, 46, teamed up with Saturday Kitchen chef Matt Tebbutt for her new show which airs tonight on ITV.
A teaser clip showed her pulling on some yellow gloves and delving into a bin while he removed some old food from a fridge.
The programme – which has an accompanying cookbook – will delve into money-saving tips on how to shop smart and cook budget meals for a family.
Fans were quick to support Susanna’s new project and one wrote: “Make the most speaking without being interrupted or talked over as all good things come to end Good Luck.”
Another added: “It’s great to see Susanna on other side of the sofa and getting a word in about her new health show. Great interview by Kate,Charlotte” while a third put: “I bet likes really. Wouldn’t be the same without them both!”
Both Susanna and Piers are absent from the ITV show this week.
Sky TV host Eamonn will replace Piers from April 10.
Save Money Good Food airs on ITV at 8pm tonight.
