Die Hard 2 star Art Evans dies at 82 after health battle as wife pays glowing tribute to ‘devoted husband’

He also appeared on hit shows such as The X-Files and Everybody Hates Chris

THE actor Art Evans, who appeared in the hit movie Die Hard 2, has died. 

Evans died on Saturday after battling diabetes for many years, his agent revealed.

that her husband will be deeply missed.

"Art was not only an incredible actor but a devoted husband, friend, and source of light to everyone who knew him," she said.

"His laughter, passion, and love of life will be deeply missed.

"While our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the legacy of joy and inspiration he leaves behind.”

Evans' TV and movie career more than 50 years.

His earliest film roles came in the 1970s movies Sisters and Amazing Grace.

He appeared in one episode of M*A*S*H, where he played Dolan in 1979, and the 1980s show Enos.

Evans made three appearances in Hill Street Blues between 1981 and 1984 and played a prisoner in the series Maximum Security.

He was also known for appearing in the American TV sitcom 9 to 5, which aired between 1986 and 1988.

Evans starred alongside the likes of Rachel Dennison - the younger sister of Dolly Parton - and the legendary actress Rita Moreno.

His other cameo appearances include City of Angels, The X-Files, and Everybody Hates Chris.

Evans' more recent TV appearances included shows such as Beauty and the Baller and A House Divided, according to his IMDB.

TRIBUTES PAID

His final role came as a voiceover actor in the Disney+ show The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

Tributes have been paid to the actor in light of his death.

"I was so honored to be able to work with Art Evans on a play that I helped write," playwright and screenwriter LaDarrion Williams said.

"He was genuine and didn’t play when it came to the art of theatre. Rest easy, playa."
