Saturday Night Takeaway fans in stitches at Dermot O’Leary’s hilarious antics as he smashes eggs and climbs into a trolley in comedy supermarket skit
CHEEKY Dermot O'Leary had Saturday Night Takeaway fans in hysterics as they hailed his comedy supermarket spree with toe-curling tasks set by presenters Ant and Dec the "funniest thing on TV".
One viewer claimed she was "nearly sick laughing" after watching the hilarious I'm A Celebrity Get Out Of My Ear segment on the ITV show, hailing it the best yet.
X Factor presenter Dermot was tasked with everything from clambering into a Tesco trolley to stealing customers' food and shaking hands with a shopper using a banana.
Telly fans were glued to their seats as he gave store assistant Gerald - who was in the audience of tonight's live show - a cucumber to sing into.
To everyone's surprise, he promptly belted out a version of Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone, before Derm sat into a trolley and instructed a customer to take him to the cheese aisle.
Clearly baffled, they told him: "Oh my god - I charge you two pound to get there," to which he replied: "My legs just gave up - you're the man thank you."
Fans flooded Twitter with their comments, with one writing: "Dermot is hilarious," and another squealing: "Nearly sick with laughing!!!!!!!!! Best Get out of my Ear yet!"
A third put: " with Funniest thing I've seen on TV in a long time!"
Another posted: "Poor !!!! are sooo naughty!!! ," while one excitedly wrote: "Get out of me ear The BEST this series!!!"
A stunned telly fan wrote: " oh my god! You were hysterical!!! Loved it. Tears running down my face thank you. Madey saturday night."
One rounded off with: "Oh wow & have had me in stitches!! what a great sport! Brilliant boys, that was TV gold."
Joining the cheeky chap hosts in the studio tonight, fans' favourite Dermot confessed he was "mortified."
He added the worst part was jumping into the trolley and presenting a bemused shopper with champagne for an unknown celebration - which he then had to take back minutes later.
Dec, who had been setting the trickiest challenges, laughed: "You could see you were slowly dying inside."
Earlier in the show, X Factor winner Louisa Johnson had delighted fans with a live performance of her new tune.
