CALL me Scrooge, but it’s a right nuisance when Christmas carolers come to the door — typically when I’m in the middle of watching something on Netflix.
But I’d gladly open the door with festive cheer if Katy Perry and Orlanda Bloom rang the bell.
And they will soon be doing just that, although it will be in their fancy neighbourhood in California rather than mine.
Pop superstar Katy was on stage in London on Wednesday night for the recording of her ITV Christmas special, and told the crowd she plans to dress up as The Grinch on Christmas Eve to sing for her neighbours.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will be thrilled at the news as they live just down the road.
Struck up bond
Katy said: “We are going to be home in America and actually we are going to do something we do every year.

“We rent a trolley and we dress up, and there’s lights on the trolley, and we go to all of the neighbours in my home town and we see all of their lights.
“Sometimes there is hot cocoa and I’m dressed like The Grinch and it’s going to be super fun.
“We go caroling. We are going to go and knock on people’s doors and do some carols.”
Following their move to America, Harry and Meghan struck up a bond with Orlando and Katy.

Harry previously said: “Just two days ago, Orlando Bloom sent me a message because he’s down the road, and we sort of keep in contact because of the paparazzi.
“He sent me a photograph which his security got of this long-haired guy with a beanie on, with his AirPods in, with his massive camera, lying in the back of his 4x4 truck, blacked-out windows.”
In May 2023, Katy attended the King’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey before headlining the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.
Next February, she will headline the opening ceremony for Harry’s beloved Invictus Games, which are being held in Vancouver, Canada.
Harry and Meghan weren’t at Katy’s special at Central Hall Westminster in London this week, but Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, Tom Grennan and Big Brother presenter AJ Odudu were.
And former Towie star Gemma Collins was also in the audience, though it seemed like Katy was more excited about meeting her than the other way around.
After Gemma asked her a question during filming of the special, Katy Perry: Night Of A Lifetime, which airs on ITV1 and ITV Player at 6.30pm on Saturday, December 21, Katy gushed: “Oh my God! You are the hun of all huns.
“You are my icon. I use you to interpret my feelings through memes that you’ve blessed us with.”
