Matt Damon reveals Ben Affleck ‘couldn’t be happier’ after completing rehab treatment for alcoholism
The best mates have been long-time collaborators and he's revealed Matt is now 'Mr-Mom-ing' with his children
BEN Affleck is feeling better than ever following his stint in rehab for alcohol addiction, according to his best mate Matt Damon.
The celebrity duo, who are known to be close friends, are long-time collaborators in their work - including winning an Oscar for their film Good Will Hunting in 1996.
Now Matt has revealed that following Ben's admission to rehab, his Dogma co-star is feeling a lot better and enjoying spending time with his kids.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "He's with the kids now, couldn't be happier. Jen's working for a couple weeks in Atlanta, so he's Mr. Mom-ing it right now. And that's what he wants to be doing."
Ben, 44, secretly checked into a facility to battle his demons shortly after his appearance with Matt at the 2017 Academy Awards.
It was the second time the star had sought help for alcoholism after a brief period in 2001.
In a heartfelt message on Facebook, he praised his wife Jennifer Garner and his family for their help and support, saying he was “lucky” to have them.
He wrote: “I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront.
“I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step."

Since then he was seen looking happy and healthy with his children, and in one set of photos was seen throwing his son Samuel onto his shoulders and walking him to school for the day.
The happy smile on the dad’s face marked a new beginning for him, with a friend of the actor telling magazine: “He is thrilled to be back with his kids. Clearly you see that his kids mean the world to him.”
Ben had previously gone on record to discuss his continuing issues with alcohol, and explained to in 2012: "I went to rehab for being 29 and partying too much and not having a lot of boundaries and to clear my head and try to get some idea of who I wanted to be."
He added: "It was more a 'let me get myself straight,' before it became a rite of passage."
News of the stars ongoing battle with sobriety comes just days after it was reported that he and wife Jennifer had called off their divorce after more than a year of separation.
The couple have three children together and are said to have agreed to work on their marriage for the sake of their family while still deciding whether or not to get back together.
