I’m A Celebrity star Adam Thomas quits Emmerdale after eight years to ‘chase dream of hosting his own show’
EMMERDALE actor and I’m A Celebrity star Adam Thomas is quitting the soap after nearly eight years.
Adam, 28, will be written out of the show in late 2017.
It is thought Adam, runner-up in I’m A Celebrity last year, wants to host his own show.
His exit follows those of stars Kelvin Fletcher, 33, Gemma Atkinson, 32, and Bill Ward, 49, in the past 12 months.
A source said: “Adam’s had a great time but he’s spent eight years in the Dales and thinks the time is right.
“It’s a headache for bosses as he’s a recognisable face, especially after I’m A Celebrity.”
Adam, brother of former Corrie star Ryan Thomas, shot to fame during three years as Donte Charles in BBC drama Waterloo Road.
In 2009 he joined Emmerdale as Adam Barton.
His storylines have seen him suffer a breakdown and commit arson after John Barton, the man he believed was his father, died.

His character also mistakenly believed he had fathered a child after a doctored paternity test — and his half-sister Holly and biological father James were also both killed off earlier this year within a month of each other.
He came runner up to former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, 26, in I’m A Celebrity.
