Amir’s family may think differently however, as Amir’s father Sajad has previously spoken of his distaste at her dress code.

He said: “Faryal was adopting a dress code which in the Islamic faith was not acceptable. I am a father to two daughters whom I have treated exactly the same way as I have treated Faryal.

Amir’s family do not like the way Faryal dresses

“All this started with the issue of dressing. We kept asking Amir to tell her not to adopt such a dress code. And even if she had to wear such dresses, please don’t post it on social media.”

Earlier this month Faryal gave a damming interview where she spilled the beans on living in the “backward” city of Bolton.

She also spoke with the about her relationship with her in-laws and how she goes against what they expect from her as a daughter-in-law.

She told : “In my head, living with my new husband was going to be this fairytale, but it was hard and I didn’t have any friends.

“Bolton is very backward. Compared to New York, it’s a village.”

Speaking about Amir’s mother Felak, Faryal continued: “”I want to see more British Pakistani Muslim women speaking up for themselves, getting out there and doing something.
