RYLAN Clark-Neal's mum was discharged from hospital six weeks after suffering surgery complications so they could spend Mother's Day together.
The TV host's mum Linda suffers from Crohn's disease and he revealed today that she is finally home after spending more than a month under the care of doctors.
Rylan, 28, revealed Linda went into a hospital in London to undergo an operation relating to her condition but "something went wrong".
She was then kept in for another six weeks as she recovered.
The ordeal was finally over last week when she was discharged and allowed to go home.
Linda, who is in her mid-sixties, came home just in time for Mother's Day yesterday, and Rylan admitted it was an extra special one for the family because of Linda's ordeal.
During his appearance on This Morning today, he said: "She was in hospital for six weeks. She had surgery for Crohn's but something went wrong.
"She's home now. She's well. We had a nice little Mother's Day."
Lina has been battling the disease for more than 30 years, and Rylan has previously spoken about her bravery in dealing with the chronic condition.
The disease affects about one in 1,200 people in the UK and causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system.
Symptoms include diarrhoea, intense abdominal pain, weight loss and fatigue.
Rylan previously told the that Linda was diagnosed when she was in her 30s, and it took over her life.
He said: "My mum lost her job because of the disease - it totally dictates her life.
"When she was diagnosed it really hit her hard because it wasn’t picked up early enough.
"The earlier you pick it up the easier it is to control.
"I grew up with the disease as well because she was ill – it is life-threatening. It’s scary."
Linda has had to undergo multiple operations over the years to remove damaged parts of her bowel.
The condition is believed to be genetic so Rylan has been tested for the condition.
He added: "I have been tested for it and it is a slight worry but it is my mum that I worry about.
"I hope that if I get it I will be able to manage it well. I know a lot about it but for now I am happy and healthy."
