It's reported Snoop jumped at the chance to lead a group of West Coast rappers in paying tribute to Tupac - infamously gunned down in 1997.

Sources say the performance will feature a mix of at least three songs performed by Snoop, Dre and company including 'California Love'.

Tupac and Snoop collaborated on 'All Eyez on Me' and '2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted," and Snoop has often taken credit for bringing Shakur to Death Row.

Tupac died when gunmen in a white Cadillac pulled up to the passenger side of his car in Las Vegas and carried out a gang-style  hit.

In a barrage of 13 shots they hit Tupac in the hand, pelvis and chest. Suge Knight received just a graze to his head.

Six days later Tupac was pronounced dead.

Six months after his well-publicised death, on March 9, 1997, his pal turned rival The Notorious B.I.G. was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, California.

Snoop has reminisced about meeting 'Pac for the first time at a wrap party for the film Poetic Justice, which starred Shakur and Janet Jackson.

also includes Pearl Jam, Yes, Joan Baez, Journey and Electric Light Orchestra.

The ceremony takes place at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on April 7th.
