Gogglebox fans left in hysterics as Mary Killen declares the UK is a nation of pornography obsessed marijuana addicts
GOGGLEBOX fans were left laughing at their television screens on Friday night as professional TV watcher Mary Killen declared the UK was a nation of porn and drug addicts.
The mild mannered star became emotional while watching a BBC documentary about war time music legend Dame Vera Lynn.
The documentary invoked a sense of British pride in Mary – however she also was left longing for the days of old before a time of broadband internet and apparent rampant use of high concentrated marijuana (referred to as “skunk”).
Viewers watched with concern as Mary welled up while watching the TV show that celebrated Dame Vera turning 100.

“Just the sight of Vera Lynn is enough to make me burst into tears,” she said, beginning to cry and as her husband Giles Wood sat beside her.
“Because she represents the days when everyone… when the general person was very nice. Unlike today,” she declared.
Giles tried to calm her, gently saying: “Come on, Nutty. Most people are nice.”
But Mary was having none of it.
“They’re all watching pornography and smoking skunk and stuff like that,” she said, as Giles tried to reassure her, saying: “No they’re not. Not all of them.”
Viewers of the award winning Channel 4 reality show were quick to leap on Mary’s view as the highlight of the episode and took to Twitter to share their amusement of her opinion.
“You have to love Nutty,” one fan affectionately commented.
“Nutty losing faith in human nature… love her,” commented another.
Meanwhile another wrote: “I love you so much,” about the star, and others responded with laughing emojis and one wrote: “Oh my LORD that is one of my favourite #Gogglebox moments EVER 😂😭 MARY! I'm bloody screaming.”
While another viewer didn’t dispute Mary’s view, writing: “Well, yeah but we still care about each other.”
Dame Vera Lynn rose to fame in the second World War as she released songs including We’ll Meet Again and The White Cliffs of Dover.
She was made a Dame in the 1975 Birthday Honours and turned 100 on Monday.
This week she made chart history – as well as reaching her centenary – becoming the oldest living recording artist to have an album in the UK Top 10 charts.
