Phil Collins brands pre-nuptial agreements ‘unethical’ despite paying out a staggering £25million in a bitter divorce battle
The True Colours singer is sticking to his guns on the legal document penned before couples say 'I Do'
PHIL Collins has stuck to his guns and launched a scathing attack on prenuptial agreements despite forking out £25million for his own divorce settlement.
The True Colours singer has maintained his opposition to the legal document signed before couples say 'I do' regardless of his huge payout to third ex wife Orianne Cevey staunchly branding them "unethical."
She was Phil, 65, third wife after his divorce from Andrea Bertorelli in 1975 and 12-year marriage to Jill Tavelman, which ended in 1996.
He married Orianne in 2015 and speaking about their lack of a pre-nup told : "I think they’re unethical.
“They say, ‘Oh, darling, I love you forever, but just in case’.
“It cost me a lot of money, but that’s lawyers for you. Anyway, I don’t envision getting married again."
Phil, dad to model daughter Lily, still stays in touch with Orianne despite dumping her by fax.
He told the magazine they "stayed in touch, very closely" and didn't rule out re-marrying her, as he added: "
may. I’m just not considering that yet.
“It can be very difficult to forgive. But in our situation, we both felt we made a mistake. Our kids are obviously over the moon.”
Earlier this year we reported how Phil's middle child Lily, 27, had forgiven the star for not being there to support her when she battled anorexia in a candid letter.
Lily, Phil‘s middle child, claims that “many of my deepest insecurities stem from these issues with my dad”, including her teenage anorexia.
Her open letter to the Another Day In Paradise singer is taken from her debut book, Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me, which is aimed at teenage girls and aims to help them express themselves and deal with their own personal problems.
