EASTENDERS fans were stunned when Danny Dyer left Albert Square on Thursday night in just 60 seconds - calling his exit 'weird and rushed'.
The Queen Vic pub landlord - who is played by actor Danny Dyer - made his final appearance for a while on the soap after the actor took a break to deal with personal issues.
The scene, which lasted less than a minute, saw Whitney booking a flight to Sofia for Mick after he received the shocking news.
The cash-strapped family were forced to dip into baby Oli's savings to pay for the flights.
Some viewers were baffled by Mick's speedy exit and slammed bosses for the “weird storyline”.
One fan tweeted: “Well, Danny Dyer's exit didn't feel at all rushed.”
A second said: “Why on earth did they have Nancy getting hit by a car in Bulgaria when they literally could have just had mick go be with Linda?”
Another asked: “What was that random scene on #eastenders tonight with Mick? I know his having a break but really how random.”
Others were more sympathetic to the writers and revealed they thought it was understandable given how quickly Danny had to leave the show.
One simply tweeted: “I’m crying,” while another wrote: “Poor Mick, his world is falling apart.”
Viewers watched as Mick's wife Linda Carter made an unexpected return last week after being summoned by Jane Beale before spiriting herself back to Spain to look after her mother who had suffered a stroke.
The Queen Vic landlord has faced mounting pressure in recent weeks as the pub struggles to bring in enough money as well as son Lee leaving Walford for a new life in Dover.
