MAFS sparks 200+ Ofcom complaints
Married at First Sight UK has stirred up controversy, with over 200 Ofcom complaints lodged over alleged bullying after explosive clashes between cast members.
The drama reached its peak during the November 7 episode, where the brides and grooms gathered separately for Girls’ and Boys’ Nights, setting off a series of feuds that left fans divided.
Tensions first surfaced earlier in the series during a retreat, when brides Holly and Polly accused fellow bride Hannah of making inappropriate remarks toward the other husbands. Holly, in particular, believed Hannah had crossed a line, suggesting she was flirting with her own husband, Alex.
“How many husbands have you run off with since leaving the experiment?” Holly fired at Hannah, referring to how she expressed an interest in Alex earlier on in the series, and had become friendly with another groom Orson.
Holly then kept hammering the question: “How many are you linked with?” A visibly distressed Hannah then said: “Honey I am not going to be spoken to like sh**.”
Ofcom has since confirmed that a significant portion of the 237 complaints were related to Holly’s treatment of Hannah, adding yet another layer of controversy to this season’s reunion.
Taking things slow… how Ross charmed Sacha
- Ross McCarthy, 32, a deaf former footballer and gym addict, tied the knot with Sacha Jones, 29.
- Both were hugely family-orientated, with Sacha hoping to find a man that would protect her like her dad does.
- The pair got on well, though things got awkward around the conversation of intimacy, with Sacha revealing she was nine months celibate and feared Ross would want to share a bed with her.
- They also only pecked on the cheek at the altar, as she found it too strange to kiss a man she only just met on the lips (fair).
- However, he ticked all her boxes by being a fire star sign (Sagittarius) just like the rest of her family, and he offered to sleep on the sofa.
Ratings success
MAFS UK is a ratings success, averaging two million viewers per episode last year, thanks to the mix of high-stakes romance and awkward introductions.
A one off special
The Sun has revealed that Channel 4 have commissioned a one-off special for Married At First Sight UK, set to be recorded 12 months after filming wrapped. But the planned spin-off of the hit E4 series hasn’t gone down well with some members of this year’s cast, as while some brides and grooms have been invited back, others have not.
A TV insider said: “MAFS UK has been high on scandal this year with the sheer amount of messy splits and bust-ups, perhaps more than ever.
“Bosses thought it was worth revisiting some of the cast to see how their lives have changed 12 months on from filming the experiment.
“However, preparation for the special episode has been marred by a few of the cast members kicking off because they were not invited to appear despite playing starring roles in the series.”
BACK TO REALITY
A MAFS UK groom has revealed he's already returned to his very normal job after finding fame on the show.
Last night saw the Married At First Sight UK gang come together for the final time in a second reunion episode.
And Nathan Campbell has wasted no time in getting back to reality working as an engineer.
He took to Instagram to give followers a tour of his workplace at Watson Gym Equipment, where he's worked for two years.
Nathan revealed how he uses his "ADHD and passion for fitness from a young age" to help when manufacturing gym equipment at work.
Lest we forget …
Here are some memorable momets from previous episodes.
- Charlie and Eve, despite moments of intimacy, clashed during their honeymoon, with Charlie looking like she may exit the experiment.
- Caspar upset Emma by saying he rarely goes for “curvier women,” but the pair managed to smooth things over with a backgammon game after their argument.

MAFS star Amy reveals ex-husband’s shocking message
Married At First Sight star Amy has shared the shocking crude message her ex-husband Luke sent her on her birthday, leaving fans stunned.
The couple parted ways at last night’s final vows with Amy brutally declaring their marriage “deceased”.
Amy has now revealed the contents of the letter that came accompanied with a gift, as former husband Luke sought to save the marriage.
The letter began: “I’ve been thinking about you. I miss you. I miss waking up next to you.
Amy continued: “It said ‘I keep saying no regrets. I keep having one regret. When you were cooking I wish I got down on my knees and terrorised your b*****e.”
“After that he said ‘PS write to me. I’d like that.”
Hannah and Ryan’s shocking arrival
Yesterday’s explosive reunion saw Hannah arrive with Ryan, before flirting with another groom.
Rumours about a potential romance between the two had been swirling, and then even more so when they made a dramatic arrival as a couple.
Both Hannah and Ryan were unlucky-in-love on the dating show, with their relationships with Stephen and Sionainn collapsing on screen.
However, fans were shocked when it was revealed that Hannah and Ryan had been flirting off-camera and that they may have even shared a kiss.
Then on Wednesday night’s explosive reunion episode the pair looked in good spirits as they waltzed into the dinner party together.
Hannah and Ryan’s co-stars looked on in disbelief, and Sionainn shook her head as her ex arrived with a new girl.
Adam Nightingale defends himself over ‘sex comment’
Adam Nightingale has hit out at the show’s editing after a controversial remark about his sex life with Polly aired during last night’s reunion.
Despite Polly expressing a desire for a more intimate connection with Adam, who had previously said she wasn’t his “type,” the pair clashed during their confrontation.
Adam made the cutting comment, “We had sex three times in 10 weeks,” which has since sparked backlash.
Now, Adam has taken to Instagram to claim there was more context to his comment that viewers didn’t see.
He posted a screen grab showing him looking dull at the dinner table and the words: “I was so drunk think we all seen the eyes.
“Edit made it look like I said the sex comment out of nowhere.
“But I got accused of using her for sex and leading her on … to the point Holly stuck up for me and said ‘no he didn’t, you just said you just wanted sex and you’d have been happy’ or something along those lines.”

Uh-oh!
Where is he?
Stephen butally skipped out on reuniting with Hannah, who admitted her humor had been "misinterpreted" in their marriage.
She went on to call out her co-stars, however, for labeling her a "s**g" and criticised Holly’s "look what the cat dragged in" remark.
Bad blood
Polly claims she was "led on" by Adam, adding that he's "not a nice person" - while insists he "treated her well" throughout.
Yikes!
NSFW
Luke is coming under fire for writing an X-rated message in a letter to Amy prior to the finale.
Amy was left stunned by his shocking request - which we can't repeat - but he continues to defend himself.
"Dead"
Amy declared her marriage to Luke is "dead" in a brutal monologue, sending shockwaves among their co-stars.
Luke said he will always have "fond memories" of their time together, taking the news graciously.
It's the final countdown!
Just five minutes to go now. Don't go anywhere as we'll keep you covered throughout tonight's final.
