Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody set for role in BBC gangster drama Peaky Blinders
HOLLYWOOD star ADRIEN BRODY perfected his European twang for his role in The Grand Budapest Hotel as greedy Dmitri.
But he had better get working on his Brummie accent — as the star has joined the cast of hit BBC drama Peaky Blinders.
The actor will line up alongside CILLIAN MURPHY, TOM HARDY and PAUL ANDERSON in the gangster drama, set in Birmingham.
A source said: “Adrien arrived in Liverpool on Sunday and has been filming all week.

“There has been a massive security presence at the hotel as producers don’t want people finding out he is involved.”
Bosses have stayed tight-lipped on his role in the drama but sources say he could be the villain responsible for putting the Shelby family behind bars at the end of the last series.
Adrien’s other notable roles include Salvador Dali in WOODY ALLEN flick Midnight In Paris and Jack Driscoll in the 2005 film King Kong.
Facing a giant gorilla wouldn’t be half as scary as fighting a whisky- fuelled gangster.

Pammi... and Mrs Brown's buoyed
WHEN you are responsible for the most popular sitcom on British TV, important people start to notice.
Just ask Mrs Brown’s Boys creator BRENDAN O’CARROLL.
The star of the BBC1 hit has been offered big money by Netflix and Amazon to make a new show.
In an exclusive chat, the Irish star said: “The business over the years has changed. You are continuously asked for content. I mean continuously.
“If I was to say we are going to do three one-hour comedy mockumentaries about the importance of rabbit s**t, somebody would f***ing buy it.
“The most important thing right now is having someone who can deliver. That’s all that’s important right now. Unfortunately, that leads to a load of s**t being out.”
Brendan and his wife JENNY GIBNEY are staying put on the BBC for now. They are back tomorrow with their All Round To Mrs Brown’s with guests PAMELA ANDERSON, JAMES BLUNT and JUDY MURRAY.
Two people certain to tune in to BBC1 at 9.15pm tomorrow are ROBBIE WILLIAMS and wife AYDA FIELD, who
Brendan discovered are mega-fans after bumping into them backstage during ANT and DEC’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Brendan said: “The two of them were quoting scenes to my face.
“I was a bit starstruck but he disarmed me with how much he knew about the show.”
Robbie’s got a potty mouth to rival Mrs Brown too.
Capaldi kneeds to rest
HE has fought Daleks, Cybermen and countless other alien threats during his time in Doctor Who.
But PETER CAPALDI said his biggest threat has been far less scary – the danger of running down corridors.
The actor had to have keyhole surgery in 2015 after hurting his knees, two years after the 11th Doctor MATT SMITH ended up on crutches for the same reason.
He said: “You run down a corridor, spin at the end to get in, and it causes tension as you turn. I think the term is ‘Doctor’s Knee’.”
While Peter had planned to get fit when he joined the BBC sci-fi show, which he will leave at the end of the year, he was far too exhausted.
Peter added: “The idea that you could do any exercise after a day of running up and down corridors, chasing monsters or jumping off rocks is ridiculous.”
Not long until you can put your feet up, Peter.
