The tour will follow hot on the heels of Angels hitmaker Robbie's Better Man biopic, released on December 26.

The former Take That singer teased fresh material for his live gig dates - which kick off in Edinburgh in May and also see him travel across Europe.

The live shows will ultimately wrap in Helsinki on September 20.

Talking of the gigs Robbie said: "This tour is going to be my boldest yet - I can’t wait to see you next year.

"There will be songs from the movie Better Man, and some new music too… but more on that soon."

Fans will no doubt come out in force for tickets, which are on general sale on November 15 at 10am.

The She's The One singer holds several records for live performances, including the Guinness World Record for his 2006 world tour in which he sold more than 1.6 million tickets in a single day.

This legendary stat comes as well as the record attendance of 375,000 fans over three nights at his iconic Knebworth shows - a figure which has never been broken in the UK.

“They love his music and stage craft and thought that his super stage personality and charisma seemed to be the perfect fit for them. But when they packaged up the offer, Rob turned them down.

“They were absolutely gutted as the tickets would have sold out immediately. But Robbie seems to be wanting to take a more careful approach to what he does next.”

Robbie relocated to the States to live a quieter life in the early Noughties.

He previously said: "I am completely anonymous in America, and I didn’t plan to change it until now.

"Now I’m kind of desperate for that to change. I moved so I could be Bruce Wayne in America and Batman everywhere else.

“It worked for me because there were periods in my life which were pretty risqué. I needed a place to retreat and not be known, and I got that.

"But now I’m old and wise enough to want the experience of incredible success again. And maybe that would be in America."
