Why is Paddy's bike called 'Patch'?
If you were wondering where the name Patch came from, Jo Whiley got the scoop last night during her Radio 2 show.
"The chopper is essentially a house brick with two wheels on!" said Paddy, "It's not made for these kind of journeys, they've patched it up. That's why we call it 'Patch'."

Paddy's pain
Life is not a beach for Paddy right now, he's got a sore back and a pretty hilly ride coming up - through the gorgeous, but mountainous, Lake District.
When radio pal Vernon checked in on him, he'd stopped off at the seaside for a much-needed back massage in front of an amused audience... but will it be enough to ease his back pain to get through the rest of his route today? It's quite the climb ahead of him.

"I'm on Patch, we're just in a little bit of slow traffic but I'm having a rest, whenever I see a red light I'm actually delighted."
He may be tired, but he's got his furthest day to get through. Thankfully, the support of all the listeners is powering him on...
"It's amazing people are coming out, and people are giving their all."
