Hollyoaks spoilers: Ste Hay ‘murders’ Amy Barnes as he’s filmed lashing out at her in final shocking scenes

HOLLYOAKS' Ste Hay has been filmed lashing out at his ex and mother of his children Amy Barnes in explosive new scenes, sparking speculation among fans that he could murder her.

The troubled character was previously violent towards Amy, played by Ashley Slanina-Davies, during their relationship, but they've made amends after she returned to the soap with their children.

Now, fans have been left devastated as it's revealed Amy will be killed off ahead of her marriage to Ryan, played by Duncan James.

He is set to return home and find her dead, but producers are keeping the identity of her murderer a closely guarded secret.

New footage from an explosive teaser clip shows Ste lose his cool during a row with Amy, eventually appearing to lash out at her.

Amy is thrown back on to a cabinet, and a picture frame ends up smashed on the floor in the struggle.

It's not clear if the argument results in her death however, or if bosses have planned another twist.

Elsewhere in the clip, viewers are taken on a trip down memory lane and shown previous clips of Ste and Amy's violent relationship.

However, emotions will run high as Ste breaks down in tears and professes his love for her.

In what looks to be the biggest storyline of the year, grisly scenes airing next week will see Ryan come home to a nasty surprise as he finds Amy's lifeless body at home.

That means Hollyoaks policeman Ryan will be left investigating his girlfriend's death as part of a whodunnit storyline.

Hollyoaks bosses claim there will only ever be one suspect in the brutal murder when the story hits our screens next week.

But that doesn't rule out the possibility of some wild twists and turns - and the main suspect won't necessarily be Amy's killer.
