Why was Aaron Mayford in the frame as Trish's rapist in Broadchurch?
Aaron Mayford is arguably the darkest Jim has ever had to go as an actor.
In the newest series of the show, Aaron was confronted by detectives Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) and Alec Hardy (David Tennant) after his past was discovered.
He was previously convicted of rape which involved tying up his victim - the same MO as the culprit of Trish's sexual assault.
Aaron protested his innocence to the detectives, and maintained a claim that his victim consented in the sexual acts before changing her mind after because she was married.
He appeared to be co-operative in the investigation but the team then placed cops outside to keep an eye on his house to be safe.
Despite initially coming across relatively nice, his attitude changed and his creepy side came out when he got into DC Katie Harford's car and refused to leave despite her protests.
He then a string of provocative comments to her which left many suspecting that his dark side included being the culprit.
