Danny, 39, jetted to the sun-soaked location with wife Joanne Mas in February, after The Sun's Bizarre column revealed producers were concerned his partying antics and gruelling 16-hour days filming were taking their toll.

After four weeks away from Albert Square antics sunglasses-clad Danny looked cheery as he stopped to fill up his car at a local garage.

He looked stylish in a bomber jacket, grey top and jeans as he pumped his black people carrier full of fuel.

Danny has returned to the UK to chat with EastEnders producers about his comeback plot.

While on holiday in South Africa, he had been keeping a low profile over the last four weeks but he was snapped with a fan towards the end of his South African trip and was “glowing.”

In February, The Sun exclusively revealed Danny stopped filming after talks with show bosses.

Producers were especially concerned about his behaviour at the National Television Awards, where he fell off the wagon after an attempt to quit alcohol at the start of the year.

An insider on EastEnders said: “The producers are concerned about him for a number of reasons.

Danny’s departure was a major concern for Enders producers as he is central to storylines on the show, filmed about six weeks in advance.
