Roman Kemp shocks fans as he opens up a PIE shop – months after quitting huge breakfast radio show
Roman Kemp has swapped presenting for pastry – and opened a classic East End pie shop.
The TV and radio star has launched the Easy Peasy Pie Shop, on New Inn Yard in London’s Shoreditch – but it’s for one day only.
Roman, 31, an avid Arsenal fan and self-confessed meat pie enthusiast, frequently enjoys them on matchdays - and has now been given the opportunity to share his love for the snack with others.
The eatery was opened by Vodafone to celebrate the launch of One Touch Switch – now making switching to its reliable full fibre broadband as easy as pie.
And the opening of the shop, he worked alongside ‘easy cook’ Lisa Faulkner, to serve an array of the nation’s favourite pies and fillings.
Roman Kemp said: “When asked to help serve up delicious pies, I couldn’t say no.

“Pies are a staple for me, whether I’m at home or at the footie, so I couldn’t resist the chance of learning the art of making them and getting my hands on one for free.
“Lisa has taught me a lot today about the craft of a good pie, but I think I’ll stay away from the kitchen as it doesn’t seem that easy – not like switching broadband, which is easy as pie.”
The pie shop, situated in the heart of London’s East End, dished out pies for free to hungry punters for one day only.
Alongside Roman, Lisa Faulkner was seen serving up easy eats including Beef and Craft Ale, Chicken, Ham and Leek and a Vegan Jackfruit and Craft Ale, dishing up more than 400 free pies in total.
