The Apprentice’s Dillon St Paul opens up about his life-changing near death experience

APPRENTICE star Dillon St Paul had a "spiritual experience" after undergoing emergency surgery for a brain tumour.

The Irishman - who competed on the last series of the BBC One show - was rushed to hospital earlier this year after having a seizure, which then revealed the tumour.

Dillon attended his first public event since leaving hospital at the Britain's Next Top Model launch on Thursday night in London.

And speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Dillon spoke about his time in hospital.

He said: "I felt like I had a spiritual experience, I definitely had an experience like that.

"It was very personal for me. It sounds a little bit soppy but I felt someone take my hand, and I was reassured, it was lovely.

"It was a very powerful experience."

Dillon previously revealed in a blog that he thought he was dying after he had a seizure while at work in Dublin.

But despite the near-death experience, Dillon has recovered remarkably well from the surgery.

He said: "I’m a bit of a mutant because my recovery was very fast.

"I was like getting Starbucks like three weeks later and watching Snapchats, so it was very fast the healing process.

"Most of my experience is sort of abstract, you are quite emotional, you can get very tired very easily.  "Physically I’m fine just it’s just that part was quite difficult in the beginning."

While Dillon has certainly been through the mill in recent weeks, he is thankful for what happened as the tumour could have gone unnoticed until things were a lot worse.

He added: "It was out of nowhere but that’s how it happens.

"But if I hadn’t had a seizure, the tumour would never have been detected, so it was a positive to come out of a negative experience."
