Unlike many DJs who focus on producing their own music, Jackmaster’s fame largely stems from his remarkable DJ skills.
He was celebrated for his ability to weave together diverse genres in his sets, creating high-energy, genre-bending performances.
His sets often blended techno, house, UK bass, disco, and even classic pop, earning him a reputation as a crowd-pleaser.
Jackmaster performed at major festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury, Coachella, and Sonar, and held residencies at iconic clubs like Fabric in London and DC10 in Ibiza.
In 2014, he was voted DJ of the Year by Mixmag, one of the most prestigious honours in the electronic music scene.
He had also been a regular feature in Resident Advisor’s annual Top 100 DJs poll, underscoring his influence.
In recent years, Revill had been open about personal challenges, including his struggles with mental health and substance abuse.
In 2018, he faced allegations of inappropriate behaviour at an event, for which he publicly apologised, revealing he had overdosed on GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate), a nervous system depressant, at the time of the incident.

“During the ensuing blackout, my actions involved attempting to kiss and grab people against their will. I am truly disgusted and ashamed of myself, and I do not wish to use my substance abuse as an excuse for my actions,” he said in an August 2018 statement.
“I am attempting to address my personal issues head-on, speaking to those involved personally, making changes to my lifestyle and working to ensure that others receive support,” he added.
