Who is Ortis Deley? The Gadget Show presenter on Channel 5 and radio DJ
ORTIS Deley is known for being a big name on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show and you may recognise him from other programmes too.

Who is Ortis Deley?
He was born Ortis Deley on June 2, 1973, in Balham, South London.
Ortis attended Ernest Bevin College in nearby Tooting Bec.
He then landed a place at the University of Sunderland where he studied for a degree in pharmacy and graduated in 1995.
What shows has Ortis been on?
Ortis was a contestant on the popular Saturday night evening show Blind Date which was hosted by Cilla Black.
He was spotted on the show by industry big-wig Jan Simmonds.
His first job in television was for LWT fronting a pilot Saturday breakfast show entitled Up Your Street.
Ortis then began presenting on The Children’s Channel before becoming a host for Trouble TV.
In 1999, he began presenting Short Change, a consumer affairs programme for children on BBC One.
A year later he joined the team on the BBC’s Saturday morning programme Live and Kicking and in 2002 he hosted Making It, a talent search for a new BBC presenter.
He presented various CBBC shows including Xchange, Wonderful World of Weird and X-perimental.
What else has Ortis done?
He used to host the Sunday Breakfast slot on London’s Capital Xtra.
Ortis joined the team on Channel 5’s consumer technology show The Gadget Show alongside Suzi Perry, Jon Bentley and Jason Bradbury, but left in 2012.
He returned in 2014 and on March 10, a revamped version of the show alongside new hosts Georgie Barrat and Craig Charles.
Ortis has also hosted various award ceremonies including the British Academy Children’s Awards – for which he has received two Best Presenter nominations.
Ortis has also dabbled in acting an had a bit-part in the film Derailed alongside Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen.
He also starred in Doctors, The Bill and appeared in Noel Clarke’s film Kidulthood.
What happened with Ortis at the World Athletic Championships in 2011?
Ortis was announced as the main presenter of Channel 4’s coverage of the WAC which were taking place in South Korea.
However, despite his popularity and experience as a host, viewers complained in their hundreds about his stilted delivery, stumbling over his words, constantly using his notes and getting his colleagues’ names mixed-up.
He was replaced in the August by T4 presenter Rick Edwards who, up to that point, was fronting the highlights programme in the evening.
