Who is Lee Latchford-Evans? What was his early life?

Lee Latchford-Evans was born 28 January 1975 and is an English singer, dancer, stage actor, kickboxer and personal trainer.

He is most famous for being in Steps.

When he was born, Lee was given the middle Latchford which was taken from the surname of Bob Latchford, an Everton Centre Forward, as his father was a lifelong fan of the club.

When Lee started performing the comedian Lee Evans was well known, and so the Latchford name came into play and he was known as Lee Latchford for a short time.

He later changed his name to Latchford-Evans.

After school he went on to study dance at West Cheshire College in Ellesmere Port, after that he studied at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom.

When did Lee Latchford-Evans join Steps?

Lee became part of the band Steps in 1997.

Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee, Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee and Ian “H” Watkins.

They were formed in May 1997  and released four  albums and seventeen singles.

Steps had many hits between 1997 and 2001 including two number-one singles, two number-one albums, 14 consecutive top 5 singles and a string of hits throughout Europe.

The group has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Fans hearts were left broken when they broke up on Boxing Day in 2001, after Lee and H left the band.

Steps got back together in May 2011 for a four-part documentary series on Sky Living titled Steps: Reunion.

The series started airing on 28 September, following an announcement of a second Greatest Hits album, The Ultimate Collection, that was released on 10 October 2011.

The album entered the charts at number 1, becoming the band’s third UK number 1 album.

Series 2 of Steps Reunion titled “Steps: On the Road Again” aired on Sky Living in April 2012 and the series followed the band as they embarked on their sellout 22-date UK tour.

On 24 September 2012, the group confirmed they would release their fourth studio album Light Up The World on 12 November 2012, alongside a six-date Christmas tour.

In 2017, they released a brand new album and embarked on a UK tour.

This year, they are with new dates between May and July.

What did Lee Latchford-Evans do when Steps took a break?

Like many of the other members of Steps, Lee headed for the theatre when Steps ended the first time.

He appeared in plays and in pantomimes

Lee also appeared in the reality television shows The Games, Fear Factor, I'm Famous and Frightened!, The Match and went on to win Commando VIP.

In 2006, he appeared in a new reality show on MTV, Totally Boyband, alongside other former popstars.

Lee is also a fully qualified personal trainer and owner of fitness web magazine, Famouslyfit.com.

Is Lee Latchford-Evans married?

Lee is married to his wife, Kerry-Lucy Taylor.

They announced their engagement in March 2012.

On 10 November 2012, they married at an 18th-century mansion in Surrey.

Their wedding featured in November's edition of OK! Magazine with bandmates Lisa, Faye, H and Claire on the front cover as well.
