Who is Georgie Barrat? The Gadget Show host on Channel 5 and tech journalist

GEORGIE Barrat is a journalist and broadcaster with a keen interest in technology.

Who is Georgie Barrat?

Popular telly expert Georgie is a tech journalist whoknows all about the latest digital trends.

She was born in Manchester and graduated from King's College London with a degree in English Literature.

She then embarked on a diploma in Radio Production.

This stood her in good stead for the broadcasting work she has become famous for.

What is Georgie Barrat known for?

Barrat has written about technology for a wide variety of publications, from Marie Claire to Tech City News.

Her face may also be familiar because she’s a regular on ITV’s Weekend and Channel 5’s The Saturday Show and The Wright Stuff.

Following her diploma in Radio Production, Georgie has landed spots on Radio 2 and talkSPORT, where she often breaks technology-related stories.

Barrat’s hosting range is impressive, as she's also Carphone Warehouse’s YouTube presenter.

As well as her broadcasting roles, Georgie is an advocate for charities STEMettes and Baytree Centre.

These non-profit organisations encourage 11-14-year-old girls to study STEM subjects, including technology, at GCSE and beyond.

When did Georgie Barrat join The Gadget Show?

Channel 5’s tech programme first aired in 2004.

The popular show broadcasts all the latest gadgets and has aired for over 25 series.

As presenter Jason Bradbury left The Gadget Show after 12 years of service, producers decided to shake things up for 2017.

Red Dwarf star Craig Charles is leading the hosting alongside Georgie, Jon Bentley and Ortis Deley.

Speaking about her new telly role, Georgie said: “I’ve been watching The Gadget Show for nearly half my life, so am thrilled to be given the chance to join the team.

“This really is a dream come true!
