Kasabian’s Tom Meighan reveals split from long-term girlfriend and suffering secret meltdown
Frontman is living alone in a temporary rented flat, where his security guard Marty stays a few days a week to keep an eye on him
THREE years ago KASABIAN were at the top of their game with a fourth No1 album and headlining Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage.
Off stage, however, their frontman was on the verge of a dramatic decline.
TOM MEIGHAN has revealed that in the past 12 months he has split from his long-term girlfriend and moved out of the family home after suffering a secret meltdown.
The rocker has a four-year-old daughter Mimi Malone with ex Kim James — whose initials he inked to his wedding ring finger in 2005.
But now he is living alone in a temporary rented flat, where his security guard Marty stays a few days a week to keep an eye on him.
Tom and his bandmate SERGE PIZZORNO are two of the hardest-partying rock stars in music and have made no secret of their booze and drugs past.
Speaking about his self-destruction for the first time, Tom said: “Basically my life changed. I’m by myself. Because I lost myself.
"In every way. 2016 was great for Serge, great for Leicester City, s**t for me.
“I had to sort my head out. My attitude. Stuff I was doing. People I was associating with. Not bad people.
“I was the one that was bad, I was in the haze.
“I was very unhappy, just down. You block it out by just carrying on.”
But in the past year things finally got the better of Tom.
He spiralled into despair and made himself sick.
He explained: “It was at the peak of my musical life. Sometimes life throws s**t at you and I didn’t deal with it very well.
“I was making myself ill, I ain’t gonna lie, my mind was jolted.
“It might have been a build-up from years and years. I wasn’t taking responsibility and it affected everyone around me, horrendous.”
While Tom is slowly getting back on track, the death of a pal earlier this year left him in bits.
He explained: “Recently I had a tragedy. A great friend died, couple of weeks ago.
“I ain’t gonna go into detail. I’m all right. But the old me would’ve gone crazy. I would’ve gone on one, and not thought about it.
“I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. It’s not fair. Anyway, I’m gonna stop this . . . ”
Thanks to help from friends and family — including Serge — Tom is feeling refreshed and is now ready to get back on the road with Kasabian, who will on Friday release their first song in three years.
More than anyone, he credits his little girl with keeping him alive.
Speaking in the new edition of Q Magazine, out tomorrow, he said: “My daughter has saved me.
“I’m fixed. Like the Tin Man, I’ve got my heart back.”
ADELE'S MANAGERS GET TWIT-CHY
AFTER keeping her marriage undercover for months ADELE is hiding another big secret: a private Twitter account.
The singer, who is currently touring Australia, told fans in Brisbane: “I was looking on Twitter last night. They don’t know I have a secret account, well obviously they do now because I said that. By ‘they’, I mean my management.
“I’m not allowed access to my own Twitter because I’m quite mouthy and I say the wrong thing a lot of the time, so they took that privilege away from me.”
It has also emerged she hides in a box on wheels before stadium gigs.
It means the star can be trundled to a hiding spot under the stage without crowds spotting her. She says she spends the time on her iPad.
PUCKER AND MIX IN NICK PICS
ALL that shouting out to their exes is paying off for LITTLE MIX.
They had a night off from supporting ARIANA GRANDE on tour to attend the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards – and won the Favourite Global Music Star prize.
Meanwhile, at the bash in LA’s Galen Center, fellow girl band FIFTH HARMONY were doing their best to avoid bumping into ex-member CAMILA CABELLO.
They found themselves in the same venue as Camila for the first time since she quit the group in December.
As well as the big winners there were a fair few ridiculous triumphs as categories included Most Wanted Pet, Favourite Buttkicker and the #Squad Award.
Something tells me the Oscars won’t be following suit with those next year.
NEW DON FOR THE EAGLES
AFTER the shock death of GLENN FREY in January last year, THE EAGLES founder DON HENLEY said the band would never perform together again.
But just 14 months later, they have made a U-turn to re-form without their frontman for a new, two-date festival in New York and Los Angeles.
I’m told they will headline an event later this year called Classic West and Classic East alongside FLEETWOOD MAC but are still deciding whether to recruit a singer to replace Glenn.
A music insider said: “The Eagles are getting back together on stage.
“It’s not a decision they have taken lightly but their feelings have changed and they know there is huge demand from fans.
“None of them need the money – they want to make sure the shows are a fitting tribute."
“The band are dealing with the issue of replacing Glenn and have held talks with some performers, but they are also discussing the possibility of sharing his duties between them.”
Just months after Glenn’s passing, bandmate Don said: “I don’t think you’ll see us perform again.”
Fans will be relieved he hasn’t stuck to his word.

BARELY a week goes by where JUSTIN BIEBER doesn’t have a new girl on his arm – and he’s up to his old tricks again in Australia.
The Canadian singer has been living it up Down Under with blonde beauty GEORGIE JENNINGS, who he tried to impress by scaling a plinth as they posted for a picture.
Justin even bigged her up in an Instagram post to mark their blossoming friendship, where he wrote:
“Don’t know why people say no new friends new friends are great”.
Rising actress Georgie previously appeared on BBC3 sitcom Ja’mie: Private School Girl but ditched her uniform for her date with Justin.
That would still have been a better fashion choice than his tartan pyjamas.
