IRON RUTH

Coleen Nolan breaks silence on Ruth Langsford’s split with a swipe at Eamonn Holmes

While Eamonn has moved onto another woman, Ruth has retained an air of mystery

COLEEN Nolan, 58, has praised her Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford, 64, for handling her public split from Eamonn Holmes, ‘with dignity.’

The couple’s shock separation after 14 years of marriage hit the headlines in May, as a spokesperson confirmed that divorce proceedings were underway.

Now TV presenter Eamonn has made no secret of his relationship with therapist Katie Alexander, 42, while Ruth has continued with her career as a TV star and mid-life influencer, maintaining a dignified silence.

After a four-month absence, Ruth resumed her role on ITV’s Loose Women last week and Coleen has now spoken of her poise throughout.

In an interview with Woman Magazine she said: "I don't want to say too much because it's not my business to say Ruth's life, but what I will say from a friend's point of view is, I've never met anyone who has handled something with so much dignity and pride."

She added with admiration: "She's just such a lady, more of a lady than I'll ever be, I would've spilled my guts right now - as I do, that's my problem, I say too much. She's been absolutely amazing, she really has."

After many years of working together at ITV, Ruth and Coleen are firm friends and this week they filmed a video of themselves dancing together backstage at the Loose Women studios which was posted onto social media.

In the caption Ruth wrote:  “When you get to work with your bestie.” A slew of fans rushed to comment, describing Ruth as ‘glowing’ and another said pointedly, “I feel that Ruth has got 15 years younger after ditching whiney Eamonn.”

Ruth and Eamonn, got married in 2010 and have a 22 year old son Jack together as well as three older children from his previous marriage.

Despite their separation, Ruth continues to wear her wedding and diamond engagement rings. Recently she was questioned as to why she still wears her rings on social media to which she replied: “Because I am still married.”

It is believed that Ruth still resides at their £3.2 million home in Weybridge Surrey, while Eamonn is currently renting a flat in the City of London near the GB News studios where he works as a presenter.
