Stephanie Davis vows to return to acting almost two years after being sacked from Hollyoaks
STEPHANIE Davis has vowed to return to acting almost two years after she was sacked from Hollyoaks.
The 24-year-old, who welcomed her first child Caben-Albi with Jeremy McConnell in January, said her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother has overshadowed her talents and she wants to return to her craft.
Steph played Sinead O'Connor on the Channel 4 soap from September 2010 until her contract was terminated in July 2015 after she arrived on set "unfit for work".
Speaking on The Showbiz Show presented by Simon Gross, Steph explained: "I was known for my acting first and I think that got lost in everything. I do want to get back to that."
Steph added that she spent years trying to make it as an actress and now people only think of her as a reality star.
She said: "People have categorised me as a reality TV star but that's not me.
"I've worked hard since I was younger and I've been so determined and I feel like people may have lost that a little bit."
However, she also wants to pursue a singing career and said she's "been recording her music" in recent weeks.
The Sun revealed earlier this week that she wants to record 'heartbreak ballads' after healing her rift with Jeremy.
Steph also opened up about her new autobiography called Sincere which will hit shelves on June 29.
She said: "It's brutally honest about my life, growing up in the showbiz world."
