Who is Mama June?

Mama June was born June Shannon August 10, 1979. She was was born and raised in Georgia, USA.

She found fame when her daughter Alana was on Toddlers & Tiaras.

Alana then got her own show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and the rest is history.

The reality series, which was made by TLC, was a big hit as it followed the lives of Mama June and her family and the hilarious situations they got themselves into.

Even though the show was a massive success worldwide, TLC pulled the plug after reports June was seeing a former boyfriend convicted of child molestation.

It was alleged by TMZ that June was secretly dating Mark McDaniel when he got out of prison after serving 10 years for forcing oral sex on an 8-year-old.

At the time Mama June released a statement saying: “These statements of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue. I would not ever ever every put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and I don’t seem to want to see that person.”

How much weight has Mama June lost?

Mama June starred in her own reality show, WE TV’s Mama June: From Not to Hot, which documented her incredible weight loss as she dropped from 33 stone down to a UK size 8 throughout the course of the show.

In the first episode of the series, viewers watched as she went through the life-altering gastric sleeve surgery to kick start her weight loss.

Viewers have also seen her undergo a special fat freezing procedure to get rid of her ‘turkey neck’.

Mama June revealed her kids poked fun at the excess fat around her neck, so she vowed to get rid of it.

She signed up to undergo a special procedure called “cool sculpting,” which blasts away the fat.

She said: “My kids joke about my turkey neck or ‘gobble gobble’… Really honestly, I’m feeling the nerves.”

She was seen having the operation explained to her by her consultant, and Mama June was told she would have to wait eight weeks to see the results.

Fans had to wait weeks themselves until the reality star finally unveiled her completed makeover - but it was worth the wait.

She is currently starring in season two of the reality series.
