Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe takes to the stage for Tom Stoppard romp Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
Harry Potter star admitted that after all these years in the spotlight he still gets nervous before a show
HARRY, or not Harry? That is the question as Daniel Radcliffe takes to the stage in the West End for his latest show.
But the actor, 27, is not returning as Harry Potter in the Cursed Child play and is instead taking a role in Shakespeare-themed Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
Playwright, Tom Stoppard is no stranger to Shakespeare's work with 1998, film Shakespeare in Love.
The comedy which, runs at the Old Vic, follows minor characters from Hamlet.
When we left Hamlet's childhood friends in the original play, they had been abandoned by the Prince and left to die.
This new telling puts the spotlight on the pair who are confused by the events unfolding in Hamlet and are oblivious to their roles in the play.
Without any useful skills to help them through the action, they set off on an adventure.
Daniel performs in the role of Rosencrantz in Tom Stoppard’s romp 50 years after the original premiered in Edinburgh.
But last month the star admitted to stage nerves, saying: “I get a bit twitchy and nervous.
"You need nerves, you need that.”
He promises a no-holds Bard performance.
