JEREMY Kyle has gone to extraordinary lengths in his new TV show - by getting involved in the wreckage of a near-fatal car crash before being cut out of it.

The morning chat show host pulled off the stunt for his new prime time show The Kyle Files on ITV as he volunteered for a training day for the Walsall Fire Service.

He was used as the victim of a horrific car crash as the fire officers took the event seriously to train for real incidents.

After being freed Jeremy said: "These guys take training seriously as if it is the real thing.

"Scary is the wrong word but this is definitely eye opening. People get in a car and they don't realise how flimsy they are. With all this going on, the case is destroyed.

The episode of the ITV evening show focuses on the real problem of irresponsible driving and the consequences to everyone around, according to .

Kyle will also go out on a patrol with the 'Fatal Five - a specialist police team who focus on tackling speeding, driving without a seatbelt, careless driving, driving under the influence and driving while distracted.

He will also confront a man who admits to driving while under the influence of hard drugs in shocking scenes for his later show.

The later airing gives the daytime talk show host a chance to delve into slightly more gritty subjects.

Instead of just interviewing people on stage, the presenter will examine a variety of subject areas affecting people in Britain today.

But of course, in true Jeremy Kyle fashion we can expect to see the straight-talking host revel in several confrontational moments.

  • The Kyle Files: Danger at the Wheel airs Monday night at 8pm on ITV
