Game Of Thrones star Kit Harrington has bravely revealed that he was suicidal during his battle with alcohol.
The actor is best known for his role as Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy drama.
Kit, 37, has now revealed that he dealt with his own personal issues behind the scenes, including a secret battle with alcohol.
He told : "“Because before getting sober, I would stare in the mirror and call myself a c***. I'd hate myself.
"I would literally despise myself and not be proud of anything I'd done. I couldn't be proud."
Since rising to prominence, he gained millions of fans, critical acclaim and a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe amongst other projects.

But it seems that was not enough for him at the time, as he admitted that abusing the substance caused him to fall into a deep depression.
The actor made a huge change in his life when he checked into a Connecticut rehab facility.
This was just weeks before the highly-anticipated finale of Game Of Thrones.
The treatment set him back $120,000 a month and he received psychological coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy and learned meditation.

Kit now considers his recovery and journey to sobriety to be one of his biggest achievements.
He told the outlet: "So the fact that I am proud of getting sober is in and of itself a mark of being an entirely different person.
"And now, every set I step onto, whatever work I do, I'm proud of, because I know I put everything into it.
He added: "Whereas before I had this huge monkey on my back that was just, like, weighing me down. So yeah, the whole nature of being proud of myself is a relatively new prospect for me."
But the actor also knows that he has to take each day as it comes, but talking about his journey helps him.
You're Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
- CALM, , 0800 585 858
- Heads Together,
- HUMEN
- Mind, , 0300 123 3393
- Papyrus,, 0800 068 41 41
- Samaritans,, 116 123
"I might have one massive, messy, chaotic relapse, and I hope that doesn’t happen, but I think I protect myself by talking about it," he admitted.
The star is now looking forward to his bright future with his wife, fellow actress Rose Leslie, 37.
Together, they share two children, a three-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter.
